ADDENDUM: Just spent over 30 mins. using the Time Warner “Contact us”/”Chat” option. I have a bill in my hand that suddenly has NO balance due. Sure, that part is great- but it DOES NOT change the fact that I just wasted 30 mins of my life trying to pay a bill that does not exist.
I seriously struggle to imagine a company with worse customer service than Time Warner Cable- and I deal with INSURANCE companies all day. Madness!
There is something wrong with the remote control units that TW provides it’s customers. After a couple of months of receiving a new control unit it starts to go bad. You have to hit the buttons several times before it will activate the function you are trying to accomplish. Like hitting the down or up arrow when in the channel guide. You have to click it over and over several times before it scrolls. It progressively get worse until I get sick of playing with it and go to the TW center and turn it in for another unit. The thing is I know that TW is aware of this problem but will not say anything about the cause of this remote control problem. What is wrong with these units and what is TW doing to correct the problem? The TW center in Rome NY has gotten to the point of having a large box of replacement remotes on the floor next to the customer service representative on duty. The last two times I turned in my remote for a replacement I never spoke a word to the agent. I just handed her my remote and she threw it in one box and gave me a replacement from another box. The last time I went in there was a line of at least eight people ahead of me waiting to turn in their remote units for a replacement. The weird thing is the replacements work fine for a few weeks to a month before they start acting up. Is it a hardware or software problem? While I’m bitching, when, Time Warner, are you going to upgrade your DVR box to allow for recording more that two channels at a time?
Super Bowl Sunday, Oxnard Ca, no superbowl! Other channels work. Fox is completely black. No response on servicew phone numbers. This is so bad. Time for a major refund or switch to satellite!
First game of the 2015 NFL season, and the TWC cable goes out. The game is in the second quarter and the cable is still out, going on two-plus hours. Unbelievable. It’s one thing to provide a service and have occasional outages. It’s quite another to charge outrageous premium pricing for it and then receive such horrible service. Time to revisit that promotional offer from AT&T and Direct TV. Time Warner, you dropped the ball.
So angry right now. I have deadliest catch set for a series recording. It has recorded all episodes thus far. Last night was the 2 hr season finale. Guess what? IT DIDNT RECORD! Wouldnt be so angry if this was the first time it happened, but it did the exact same thing with the season finale of SOA last season. I work nights and this is how I watch the few shows I do. I delete the show after watching, so my dvr is almost always empty. I purposely dont record more than one show at time so that there can be no conflict. Does anyone know how to fix this? TWC sure doesnt know how and ‘rebooting’ does nothing.
You people clearly have no idea how much work is involved in keeping you entertained and connected to the rest of the world… I could explain it, but you would probably start saying nasty things because the big words and complex world of telecommunications you wouldn’t understand. Thank Time Warner that your not stuck with a dish or a dsl internet connection. Hmm love this TV when it rains.
TIMEWARNER CABLE IS INCOMPETENT!!! 3 TECH 3 WEEKS IN A ROW AND MY TV AND INTERNET ARE CRAP!!! I MISSED THE SUPERBOWL AND NOW I AM MISSING THE OLYMPICS BECAUSE THE VIDEO AND AUDIO ARE CUTTING OUT SOOOO BAD THE BOX CAN’T EVEN REBOOT ITSELF!!!! CALLED THE COMPANY AND THEY COULDN’T REBOOT EITHER. Why am I paying 164.00 per month for this?????? Now the ‘supervisor’ who’s suppose to be THE GUY isn’t answering his phone. GREAT SERVICE!!!!! CAN’T WAIT UNTIL VERIZON FIOS GET TO MY AREA. I CHECK DAILY.
In NYC supposedly updating system since last night, still not done. ASK FOR A REFUND, YOU ARE ENTITLED TO IT. THEY WILL NOT OFFER IT OF COURSE. IF ENOUGH PEOPLE ASK FOR A REFUND FOR NO SERVICE MAYBE NEXT TIME THEY WILL PAY MORE ATTENTION TO WHAT THEY ARE DOING.

Well at least they are helping me get some extra sleep. We decided to give up on cable/satellite TV and just stream everything. With our internet connection dropping out as often as it does, we sometimes just give up watching TV and just go to bed early.
I think it is time for everyone to leave TWC in the dust. I experience problems with internet on RR and pixelation of the television picture. All I get from online chat help is the run around. They even told me that my compuer was not hooked up correctly, until I pointed out it has been running good until a month ago and their installer hooked it up.
It is time to find better service, better quality for a better price.
