I WAS a long term customer with TW for what seemed like decades. I have had every single issue others are reporting. But my two-(2) main complaints are ~ 1. TW equipment is refurbished over & over again. It’s still outdated junk. 2. TW does not have any program in place to “reward” or send the impression of appreciation for customers with longevity.
With that being said…I got rid of them. Do I miss cable? Hell no. I actually accomplish more not sitting in front of the TV’s trying to find something to watch! Plus I am saving over $1500.00 per year. Makes me sick to think I have paid TW somewhere around $7800.00 for the past 5 years.
I am a 20 year resident of Austin. I repeatedly have had multiple issues from service to support to price increases. I finally threatened to cancel service at the last increase as well as poor service, while no longer being under contract with them. They lowered my rates from $125 a month to $89 a month for the same service to keep me as a customer rather than me leaving. . Just a note for all not under there 2 year contract. That was for all 3 services, high speed, digital phone, and extended basic with DVR.
If it makes anyone feel any better though, I recently purchased a second home in Beaumont Tx, and made the mistake of taking “advantage” of their new bundling plans. Service is much worse here as well as technology. Poor customer service and lengthy phone calls when support is needed, Although it took only moments to get through to a new service representative when signing up. What a mistake ! Oh and i called back to have a DVR installed which I originally ordered yet they brought just a normal cable box, I was told there would be another $30 charge to exchange and an additional $12 per month. A charge I am now paying monthly which they claim is standard for the cable box I have. I was told that I misunderstood the service rep when I signed up that the current charges I am paying for this dinosaur box was correct and was what I signed up for. I still am amazed they even have anything but a DVR box with aany cable service. I don’t know for a fact, but amPretty sure any new subscribers in Austin don’t even have the option of anything less than a DVR.
And yes, I agree obviously no TW reps read or care about these postings as I have expressed my opinions of how poorly they handle their current customers verbally over the phone.
All my series I have set up to record just disappeared about two nights ago. I called and they said they are in the middle of an upgrade and that all the series should repopulate within 10 hours. They still haven’t. I can’t even search for a show to set up a series recording. AHHHH!!!!
So, it’s great that this site provides an opportunity for all of us who’ve had a terrible customer experience to vent. My question is, has it made one iota of difference?
